Android Operating systems are making progress day by day friskily, and now many iPhone users has discontinued using iOS, the Android OS is an open source operating system and precise me this is the major reason of its success and every developer can make changes in it, Android developers has recently released its latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat, but some branded mobiles are very expensive which have updated Android Operating System.
I would like to pay my gratitude and from all android lovers to the Android developers who make it possible to run Android OS on our computers with minimum system requirement (x86 bit and x64 bit). Well, I like every android game but Temple Run, Candy Crush and Subway Surfer are top of the list. This is the reason I have installed this Android Operating System on my PC and enjoying full features of Android Tablet PC. Now I can also use many android applications, i.e. Whatsapp and Viber etc on my Computer.
So what are you waiting for, let me tell you step by step procedure of installing android OS on Personal Computer.
You need to download a latest version of VMware Player; and also an Android OS of your choice which will be in form of “.iso” format, I have download Android Jelly 4.3 version on my machine.
After that click on “Create a New Virtual Machine”
A new window will open, on this window you have to select 2nd option then click on browse and find the “.iso” file your downloaded earlier and click next to proceed.
At this stage VMware Player will ask your desired name for Virtual Machine, you can type any name of your choice and after that select the location where you would like to install your 2nd Operating System.
Now you will be asked for “How large do you want this disk to be?” then select the appropriate size of your disk and select option “Store virtual disk as a single file” and click Next.
At this step VMware player will show you a complete steps you made previously so that if there is something you want to change, go back or click on “Customize Hardware” and make changes of your choice then repeat rest of the procedure. But if you are satisfied with everything you made, simply click Finish and let rest of the procedure be done.
For your convenience I am showing you a screenshot of customize hardware so that you can better understand and change configuration of your choice, here you can increase/decrease RAM and/or Processor values etc. after that close this window and proceed to the next step.
Now your virtual machine is ready to install your Android OS on your machine, on this screen you need to use your keyboard arrow keys to select options up/down and hit Enter to confirm selection. Now select (highlight) the last option having detail of your ongoing OS Installation.
Highlight the partition on which you want to install Android, it will probably be highlighted already and press Enter to confirm.
Now a DOS (Disk Operating System) window will appear, this is a very critical stage, you have to be careful to press any key, before you go ahead read this step 8 cautiously, do not press and key except “Left and Right” on your keyboard, because if you will press Up/Down key then everything will be crashed and you have to make your virtual drive from step 1, so be wise and only select options with your left right arrow keys and press Enter to confirm.
This step is same as step 8, be careful, select “Primary” option and press Enter again.
Here DOS will ask you the size of disk if you want to change or not, let the size of disk as it is.
Now select option “Bootable” with your keyboard arrow keys and press Enter.
In next window select “Write” with your left right arrow keys and press Enter.
Here DOS will ask you “Are you sure you want to write the partition table to disk?”
Type “Yes” with your keyboard and press Enter.
Now your Android is few steps away to run on your personal computer, just highlight the option “Quite” and hit Enter.
Highlight 1st option and press OK.
Now highlight 2nd option “ext3” and press OK
Next screen will show you a confirmation dialogue box, here your selected partition will be format and converted in to ext3 format, if you are agree click “Yes” if not then “Skip”, but formatting the partition is necessary to work Android stable.
Another confirmation dialogue box will appear, this box will tell you whether you want to install “boat loader GRUB” or not, but it is also recommended so please click “Yes” to proceed.
Before start formatting system partition, another question will be asked by VMware Player to grant permission of read-write directory, click “Yes”.
Formatting will be started as seen on screenshots.
Congratulations: Your image file is successfully created, select reboot option and press “OK”, now your system has dual operating systems, 1st is default installed on your hard drive and 2nd we installed in this tutorial, after that your system may ask you which OS you want to Boot, highlight the Android-x86 and press enter.
