Although Windows 8 has been awarded as a best tablet system, many users discuss on various forums on internet that the interface of Windows 8 is very controversial in Desktops and Notebooks. Every user has its own point of view, many people feel uncomfortable with its new Start menu look, and they need to have old start menu look back on Windows 8.
Now I will tell 2 easy steps how to change Windows 8 Start Menu with Old Classic one.
1 – As you can see the Windows Taskbar is still available on desktop but the button of Start is missing, Microsoft has clearly announced it already about its look and interface, however; there is a replacement provided by Microsoft. When a user drags his mouse cursor in the left lower corner of screen, an icon of “Tile Screen” appears.
By right clicking on this “Tile Screen” icon user can access Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Taskbar and Start Menu, now here go to “Start Menu” tab and select “Classic Start Menu” option and then click OK.
2 – There are many developers working on this concern and developing some open source shell programs to meet the user’s requirement, but Gadgets Informer suggests “Ivo Beltchev”. The developers have developed a Classic Shell program which can be used for testing purpose in Windows 8.
You can download the file from HERE and install it on your Windows 8 and 7 as well.
After you have done with installation of “Classic Shell Setup”, an icon of Classic Shell will appear on Taskbar at the exact location of Windows Start Logo – As developers do not want to violate the trademark rights of Microsoft, so that they have replaced the icon of Windows with its own.
There is detailed configuration of Classic Shell with user can easily customize the look and interface of Start menu.
