The Smart Keychain Ensures that You Never Lose Keys or Miss Emails

by onJuly 27, 2014

In today’s world where we are getting smart watches and even smart bands, wouldn’t it be unfair not to have smart-keychains? Of course, it is. Not anymore though.

The Smart Keychain – at least this is what it is being called on the project’s indiegogo crowd-funding page – packs four small yet extremely useful features into one: USB storage, calendar alerts, email retriever, and a key locator.

Working exactly like any other USB stick, the project comes in three different models offering 8, 16, or 32 GB of flash memory. The calendar reminder will notify you about any upcoming appointment in your calendar within the next 24 hours.

As for the email alerts, the device will let you connect your one email account and will check it after every 15 minutes. Furthermore, you will be able to designate 5 important individuals or organizations whose emails will be immediately displayed on the device. As for the key locator, the device is capable of connecting to your Smartphone using a Bluetooth connection which will help with retrieve lost keys by a 75 dB siren.

Personally, I’m all in for each feature with the exception of storage device which could use some additional storage. I mean, now that we are moving towards cloud storage, 32 GB seems a little too less. Nonetheless, key locator function will certainly prove helpful to someone like me who seem to lose his car keys every now and then.

As for Smartphone compatibility, as of now the device is only compatible with iOS-based devices, but the developers are hard at work to bring in Android support soon along with reward card integration and health tracking features.

Available in three storage options, the Smart Keychain will set backers back a fine $59.99 (the base version) to pre-order the product. For more information, check out the product’s Indiegogo Page.
