Microsoft Office Online Will Allow Users Document Chat using Skype

by onNovember 26, 2014

The latest report has been revealed according to “Paul Thurrott” that, Microsoft has recently introduced a new feature to its Office Online which is known as “Document Chat”. This feature will allow the users to chat via Skype with numerous people at the same time while working on the document. There will be no need to close the document when you need to talk with someone on Skype. You can make calls through this web based Skype even without the need of installing Skype application.

This is the Washington based company, which has launched the web based Skype but currently it is at the stage of testing period. It has not completely launched on the MS Office yet. Hopefully, we will get it available after few days of testing. The new version will be implemented on to the few existing users then, it will come for global use very soon.

Microsoft once said in its statement that:

Document Chat

“If you are sitting at the front of the computer and it does not have Skype downloaded then you will prefer to use the web browser instead of an application”.

“Or maybe you are on the go or using an internet cafe or public computer where you cannot download Skype at all”. Microsoft further stated that:

“The functionality will not be available on Microsoft Excel and OneNote”, the report stated.

You can connect and communicate with your friends and colleagues with working on the document sound easily, by simply clicking on the chat button which is placed at the upper right corner. This feature is really similar to the Google Docs group which also allows us to chat with others by using Hangouts as a communication tool. The company said that the Skype is a well-known as well as the most familiar application of free voice/video calling and messaging. As according to a daily estimate, the Skype users make nearly two billions voice and video calls everyday around the world.

According to “Win Super Site” report, Document chat will only be available in Microsoft Word Online and PowerPoint Online which will send the notification to whom you want to chat with, and alert them to response back. When you or someone from other side will accept the chat request then the chat pane will be appeared over there.

You will notice that it looks similar to Microsoft Outlook.com and OneDrive.com.

We are looking for your opinion about Microsoft’s way of communication to feedback their users by using Document Chat.
