Facebook introduces a new Android Application ” Hello”

Facebook has just introduced a new Android application known as “Hello” which essentially works as caller ID for your smartphone. The Android application Hello has been built by the same team that made Messenger app. The aim basically aims to show you who is calling by matching numbers to Facebook profiles. The app URL on Play Store suggest that the name of this app was initially set to be as “Phone” but later it was changed to “Hello.”

The app Hello actually works in that way if you get any call from an unknown number, Hello will show you who is calling by matching the number from Facebook profiles. You will be able to see name and profile picture. You will only see the information what that person already shared with you. But, information will only be visible if that user has not disabled the profile search by number. Furthermore, you can search for people and businesses on Facebook and call them with one tap without leaving the app.

By using Hello, you can block unwanted callers. It also lets you block most commonly blocked numbers. Block calls will automatically go to voice mails. You are able to see all blocked calls and review. And if you want to unblock anyone, you can easily do this from settings.

This app also provides free calling over Wi-Fi via VoIP. If you missed a call it will show you an option to reply via messenger. Facebook says that they are still testing the app but it is already available for Android. However, its not currently available on Google Play Store but you can download it from the website. The Hello app is only for Android users and there is no news whether iOS users will get this app.
