Hacker Leakes Sensitive Data from HBO Server

Last week some hackers hacked HBO’s server and leaked out an episode of famous TV series “Game of Thrones” before time. Not only this, they even leaked out addresses and phone numbers of its cast. Before leaking out sensitive information, the hackers demanded ransom from HBO. When HBO refused them, they leaked out all the information they had.

Beside this, nowadays an email is circulating on internet, which was sent to the hackers by an executive officer of HBO. In this email, the executive officer of HBO offered 2.5 million dollars to the hackers for identifying security issues on their server.

It is quite possible that, HBO would be paying ransom to the hackers in the name of identifying security breaches. But what hackers need is money. A hacker says that: He want money equal to his 6 month salary, which is around 5-7 million dollars.

It is believed that HBO need some time from hackers to assess their sensitive data lost. HBO want to know lest hackers do not have their sensitive data.

HBO and Game of Thrones

Remember that millions of people around the world subscribe HBO just to watch famous TV series “Game of Thrones”. In case if sensitive data is leaked, HBO will have to bear incredible lost.
